Native Hawaiian Student Services is recruiting Native Hawaiian undergraduate students for paid research internships in various STEM fields related to water sustainability. These internships are part of the interdisciplinary ʻIke Wai program, which is funded by the National Science Foundation's EPSCoR program. We are recruiting Native Hawaiian students from across STEM disciplines and in the fields of natural resource management and mālama ʻāina. Commitment and passion are desired over previous research experience, making this a great opportunity for a wide range of students to learn and build research skills.
Selected students will be paid to assist in research projects under the mentorship of Mānoa faculty interested in sustainable stewardship of water. They will also be paid to participate in a workshop series to develop professional skills, deepen cultural perspectives, and expand awareness of community stakes around water in Hawaiʻi. These workshops are co-developed by the 'Ike Wai team and Native Hawaiian Student Services.
